Independence Day

We really didn't know what to expect from the day. Hannah was off to a friends house to do some fun holiday partying and Connor was off to a birthday party and then fireworks with his friends. So that just left Garrin, Bill and I. What to do? What to do?

By late afternoon, I figured this was the only

RED (the ketchup from my egg sandwich for lunch)

WHITE (the loads of unrolled toilet paper that are everywhere now that Garrin is potty trained)

and BLUE (all day spent in the pool)

that would be part of our day. That was fine with us, so far.

So off we went to one of our favorite sushi restaurants for dinner - I Love Sushi. I had never really looked at the menu before, I pretty much just let Bill order. So it was funny to see items such as "I Love My Ass" and "Who's Your Daddy" and so on and so forth on the menu. I Love My Ass actually looked good, so we ordered it. I thought I was going to spit out the Diet Coke I had just taken a sip of when the waitress brought us the rolls and announced....."I Love My Ass". "Well, good for you girl. I think mine is a little big!" was all I could think.

Anyway - We think Kevin Federline was there eating while we were. It sure looked like him. I will have to check the paper to see if he was in fact in town. He had three hookers really pretty girls with him.

But in true spirit of the holiday, the three of us went up to Dragon Ridge Country Club to get a birdseye view of the fireworks with some friends. We live right next door, and can see them from our house, but we were literally right underneath them. (cough....choke.....) It was great especially with a group of friends you like to hang with!

And these are a couple of cool shots I took of Garrin sitting on top of a hill as the sun was setting behind him. I can't wait to play around with these a little more!!

What great pics! I couldn't see any fireworks from my house, other than the "ghetto style" ones that started going off at 3pm and didn't stop until . . . wait, that's right, they STILL HAVEN'T STOPPED and it is Saturday night!!!!!

Oh, and did I mention that James has been sick since 11pm Friday evening? And that the fireworks woke him up about ten times thru the night??? Poor kid.

BTW the sunset pics with Garrin are beautiful!

the camera is just a piece of equipment. It is the photographer and the subject that make the shot so.... remarkable.

you have to love Garrin.... he reminds me so much of... me.
