Darn...another trip to California??

It is official.

Our daughter has qualified in 3 events (so far) to swim the Summer Long Course Junior Olympics, in Mission Viejo, CA the beginning of August.

This past weekend, Hannah swam her a$$ off little heart out, trying to qualify for the Junior Olympics time cuts for 11-12 girls.

Just a quick Swimming 101 lesson, for those of you who have no flipping idea what I am talking about. As a young swimmer, you swim 2 years in an age group. Ages 8 and under, 9-10, and 11-12. Each has its own time standards which is relative to swimming in qualifying meets. Meaning, some meets you have to have the time cuts to swim in them - Junior Olympics being one of the hardest ones. Hannah is 10 right now, the top of her age group, but she turns 11 two weeks before Summer JO's. So she needs to be swimming those time standards NOW, to qualify to go in August. She just got 3 times! 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 200 Individual Medley. Not too shabby.....for a 10 year old.

We are so very proud of all her hard work everyday. She has been committed to working out 2 hours a day, Monday thru Friday 6:30 am to 8:30 am. Saturdays - 8:30 am to 11:00 am. And a double afternoon workout Tuesdays and Fridays. She is awesome and we love her!!!

Hard work truly pays off!
Now if we could only get her to understand that she is a competitive swimmer and not a competitive diver - she might qualify in a few other events by not wasting time doing pike dives!!!!!!!
