There is a first time for everything...

In a couple of months I will be hitting 43. And today I did a "first". I took a spinning class.

Now the trips to the gym have been sporadic because in the evening we are so stinking busy sometimes. So this morning I decided the only realistic time for me to make a commitment to working out is to go at 5:30 in the morning. So I did.

When I walked in, with the intentions of getting on the treadmill, I was sidelined by an acquaintance of mine - my kids kindergarten teachers husband. I asked him "what the heck are you doing here at 5:30??" and he told me he TEACHES the spinning class and that his wife was in the spinning room. Here is what one of those rooms look like, by the way. Not the least bit intimidating, right????

Anyway, she convinced me to stay for the hour long class. I'd say I did about 70 percent of it the right way, but when it came time to stand up and ride - holy bike-pedaling - I don't think I have stood up and ridden on a bike since I was a kid. I just couldn't do it.
I'll be back there for the class Friday a.m. though. This will be my personal challenge. Doing the whole class the right way!

Spinning ROCKS!! I used to do it twice a week when we lived in Enfield. It is hard at first--but you will come to love it. Way to get your butt outta bed at 5:30!!
